By his own admission, Josh is a natural born competitor – a quality that serves him well with both work and leisure. Aiming high is in his nature and whatever he puts his mind to, he always gives 100% – whether that is breaking 80 on the golf course, winning national finals at Twickenham (the home of English Rugby) or surpassing the expectations of his clients.
Initially Josh’s career path was firmly focused on practicing Law, and he studied at Queen Mary University in London; successfully graduating with a Law Degree. As he entered the working world, Josh pictured himself as a high-flying, Harvey Specter-style lawyer whose unique style of working ensures that he stands out from all the rest. His aspirations were to partner in a leading Law Firm, or maybe even Top 50 on the PGA tour.
Fortunately for the Executive Search world, Josh began working within a large Executive Search firm, based in London and Leeds. It is here that Josh discovered his niche and within his first full year he was awarded ‘Top Sales-person’. This accomplishment led to him receiving a significant gift from his Grandfather; a book entitled ‘The Go-Getter’, by Peter B. Kyne – an inspirational story that represents ambitious employees and entrepreneurs who look to provide their clients with the best possible service. Josh realised how the main character’s qualities resonated with his own working ethos; qualities that he hopes are seen by his own clients as he always goes above and beyond to meet their needs – delivering value by putting people first. The book has helped Josh in his successes and he now ensures that every new employee at JBAndrews receives their very own copy.
Whilst in London, Josh became a valuable part of the management team. However, after 3 years he decided it was time to return to Leeds, and in 2017 he was offered the opportunity to run his own firm. Having worked with Ben in London, he knew that there was nobody who would make a better founding partner and nobody that he would rather go into business with. Together they have built a successful family-centric business, whose strong and dynamic team enables JBAndrews to continue to flourish. Josh’s management skills present an easy-going attitude with an approachable nature; whilst also applying the energy to take JBAndrews to the next level. One project Josh is particularly proud of is heading up the opening of JBA’s new office in Dubai.
