Plant Manager

Company Overview:

JBAndrews are currently partnering with a rapidly growing manufacturing and distributor of pharmaceutical ingredients, fine chemicals and laboratory products, based in North America. With a focus on active and in-active pharmaceutical ingredients, controlled substances, dietary supplements, cosmetic ingredients and biochemicals, the client also offer North American based custom synthesis/CDMO services and operate under full cGMP and DEA regulatory requirements.

My client are searching for a strong operational leader to lead and manage all plant operations relating to: shipping and receiving, personnel training, chemical packaging/repackaging, inventory control, production and facility maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Lead total plant operations including, but not limited to: shipping & receiving, chemical packaging and repackaging, inventory control, production and facility maintenance.
• Involves up to 50 reports, including 10 direct.
• Extensive workload planning and strategic scheduling of employee workforce resulting in improved departmental performances.
• Implementation and drive of operational metrics.
• Ensure adherence to cGMP, GDP and all SOPs for sufficient plant operations.
• Close work with cross-functional teams.
• Frequent travel to other US-based facilities as is needed for training and support.
• Heavy involvement in engineering and continuous improvement teams to develop automation projects from concept development through to launch.
• Provide proactive communication with management among other groups.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in, preferably, either Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in plant operations management with proven results in a chemical manufacturing setting.
• Process optimization experience (e.g: parts flow, pull, waste elimination etc).
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing methods and concepts, as well as Lean-Six-Sigma methodologies.
• Experience in plant management and manufacturing operations Strong communication, management and supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of cGMP, FDA and other applicable regulations..
• A demonstrated history of leadership and implementation of operational improvements.
