Director of Operational Excellence

About the Company:

JBAndrews are currently partnering with an industry leading small molecule CDMO, who offer drug substance and drug product services across the entire drug development life-cycle, on a global scale, to large pharmaceutical and emerging biotechnology clients.

The company are now looking for a Lead Process Engineer or Process Development Chemist to take the next step in their career and lead the companies operational excellence initiatives at the site level, whilst supporting the site leadership team.

Responsibilities:

• Development and implementation of a continuous improvement strategy in accordance with global objectives.
• Lead and drive the Operational Excellence function at the site level.
• Aid the site leadership team in delivering Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Lead the sites process engineering team, improving key process parameters such as efficiency, yield and robustness.
• Efficiently highlight root causes of problems in processes by promoting a data driven culture across the site.
• Periodically report savings and benefits of OpEx projects developed at the site.
• Conduct independent improvement projects.

Requirements:

• A degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, or another discipline related to the pharmaceutical sector is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position in a cGMP regulated industry, ideally in API/Drug Substance manufacturing.
• A Lean Six-Sigma certification is required, at least at the green belt level.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing OpEx and improvement initiatives.
