Business Development Manager

Company Overview:

JBAndrews are currently partnered with a European leader in the Contract Development and Manufacturing of small molecule Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, serving the global pharmaceutical and animal health industries. The client are actively searching for a talented and proven Business Development Manager to grow business in the new market segments of the UK and Nordic regions.

The ideal candidate will identify, pursue and acquire new business opportunities for the organizations Custom Synthesis division in the UK and Nordic market segments. They will play a key role in the companies growth and in the generation of new business. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for developing a sales/BD team in the future as the territory and business units continues to grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand market trends and competitive environments in the companies market segments.
  • Provide market intelligence and appropriate technical details regarding services as requested.
  • Meet sales & growth targets through the identification, pursuit and acquisition of new business opportunities.
  • Collect and communicate to key stake holders key market information.
  • Develop strategic and tactical sales plans to pursue growth of various services in the assigned territory, mainly the UK and Nordic regions.
  • Promote services covering the entire molecule development procedure, from route-scouting, to process optimization, to small scale and large scale API production.
  • Direct daily sales activities to ensure customer focus, prompt customer response, and customer follow-up where required with internal stakeholders such as Customer Sales Support and Technical Services.
  • Mainly remote position with limited travel per quarter.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Masters in Organic Chemistry or another life science discipline related to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • A business qualification would be a plus.
  • 5+ years of Business Development experience in the small molecule CDMO space.
  • Proven track record of selling into the European pharmaceutical market, ideally in the UK and Nordic countries.
  • Negotiating experience.
  • CRM experience a plus.
  • Experience working in a GMP environment, with some knowledge of regulatory standards.
